This is a country which with its controversial history stirs conflicting feelings. This is mirrored in the news reports from South Africa. Side by side with stories of violence and sickness exists the fact that this country has one of the worlds most progressive constitutions.

StboschCSouth Africa still carries the scars of an painful history. There is a deep feelt frustration that this rich country can´t offer all its citizens a basic safety. Despite the abholishing of apartheid many of the inequalities that signified a segregated society still remain.

The parlamentery system is well grounded. There are numerous South African political parties but ANC remains the all dominant party. The civil society has borrowed many of traits from Europe.
